The Basic Moves of Forrest Yoga are at the heart of healing. They can be seen as local actions that create unifying body-wide affects. They are foundational active points of reference for ourselves in our own practice and for “seeing” when we are looking at our students.

This course is designed to give FY teachers a deeper understanding and appreciation for the Basic Moves and how to use them in our teaching with more nuance and effectiveness in regard to working with injuries or dysfunctional movement patterns.

Student Learning Outcomes

  • An ability to articulate the 7 Basic Moves and how they are useful

  • An ability to “see” how the 7 Basic Moves are operating in a students Asana

  • An ability to use the 7 Basic Moves in working with Injuries

  • Develop their ability at speaking concise questions during Student Assessment

  • Develop their ability to “hear” what is being said and what is not being said

  • Develop their awareness of how the 7 Basic Moves are operating in their own body

  • Develop an awareness of how to use the 7 Basic Moves more effectively in their own body and in their students bodies.
